About Us

Northwind Professional Institute’s (‘Northwind’) mission is to provide uniquely tailored, ‘off-the-record’, forums for senior business executives and regulators/government representatives in a variety of Canada’s key industries. Since all sessions are invitation-only and intimate by design, the information shared and ensuing discussions are guaranteed to be stimulating, topical and indispensable to our participants to help continue the long-term viability – and economical health – of the industry/profession/business area and its key stakeholders.

Northwind’s fora operate under the Chatham House Rule which states:

When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.

Of note, all forum agendas are created by Steering Committees consisting of senior leaders in their respective fields, be it industry, advisory, financial, regulatory or other.

Additionally, it is the philosophy and premise of these events that participants attend the full Forum and most speakers are drawn from the participants. Everyone (including speakers and committee members) is expected to pay the full registration fee, although we do offer discounts for government employees and members of academia. Fees include accommodation and all materials, meals etc.
